In the 'Taste' music video, Jenna Ortega and Sabrina Carpenter share a kiss and get into hilariously gory mayhem.

Sabrina Carpenter's new music video for "Taste," off her recently released sixth album "Short n' Sweet," begins with a warning about "graphic violence." At first glance, this film appears to take a darker turn away from the lighthearted themes of revenge that her earlier videos explored. In the comically Tarantino-esque clip, which pays homage to the 1992 film "Death Becomes Her," Carpenter and Jenna Ortega unleash murder weapons, amputations, and buckets of blood, yet the violence feels more like a cartoon.

In an incredibly funny scene, Ortega sets Carpenter on fire, severing her arm, throwing her out of a window, impaling her on a white picket fence, and electrocuting her in their fight over a boyfriend (played by fellow "Halloween" actor Rohan Campbell). Carpenter, of course, delivers it just as effectively. Warning: After talking about their similar experiences, the two end up becoming close and leaving the boyfriend's funeral together while sipping coffee.

"Taste" was co-written by Carpenter, Julia Michaels, and Amy Allen. Ian Kirkpatrick and John Ryan produced the song. The smash singles "Please Please Please" and "Espresso" from her recently published album "Short n' Sweet" are featured on it, along with brand-new songs like "Sharpest Tools," "Coincidence," "Good Graces," "Slim Pickins," "Juno," "Lie to Girls," "Bed Chem," "Dumb & Poetic," and "Don't Smile."

In a recent hint to Variety, Carpenter referred to the forthcoming album as "the hot older sister" to "Emails." It's my second record as a "big girl," she remarked. While it's a companion, the two are not the same. I would classify this as the album's sophomore effort in terms of creative control and maturity.

Her "Sweet n' Sour" tour begins in Columbus, Ohio, on September 23, North America, and ends in the UK and Europe in 2025. 33 arena dates in North America have already been sold out by Carpenter, including stops at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York. On the North American leg of her tour, Carpenter will be supported by Amaarae, Griff, and Declan McKenna; on the international dates, Rachel Chinouriri will be her supporter.
